Facebook conducted a psychological experiment on its users by manipulating their emotions without their knowledge, a new study reveals.
Researchers toyed with the feelings of 689,003 randomly selected English-speaking Facebook users by changing the contents of their news feed, according to a paper published in the June edition of the journal ‚Proceedings of the National Academy of Scientists‘ (PNAS).

Residents and merchants in Iraq’s central province of Babil have agreed to stop importing commodities from neighboring Turkey and Saudi Arabia due to the support of Ankara and Riyadh for the latest violence sweeping Iraq.
Babil Governor Sadeq al-Sultani said on Saturday that the decision has been taken in response to the stance of the two countries toward Iraq and their support for the so-called Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) terrorist group.

President Obama requested $500 million from Congress on Thursday to train and equip what the White House is calling “appropriately vetted” members of the Syrian opposition, reflecting increased worry about the spillover of the Syrian conflict into Iraq.
The training program would be a significant step for a president who has consistently resisted providing military aid to the rebels in the conflict in Syria, and has warned of the dangers of American intervention.

Iraqi journalist Abu Firas Hamdani has acquired worldwide stardom after having visited the Aljazeera studio in Qatar where he accused the Qatari government and its main state television Al Jazeera of manipulating news and thereby ‚regulating‘ terrorism in Iraq. Qatar and Saudi Arabia are frequently referred to as the primary source of revenue for ISIS in Iraq and Syria. On June 18, Abu Firas was invited to hold a debate at the Al Jazeera studio in Doha.

Earlier this week a new video emerged from Turkey showing a raid by soldiers on trucks belonging to the National Intelligence Organization which were bound for Syria. The footage has caused a scandal as the trucks were allegedly carrying arms for militants from the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant.
